Celebrating this magical holiday has always been about getting together with friends and spending time out at an Irish pub or a parade somewhere. In Chicago you can celebrate it for 4 weekends in a row if you plan it out right. And while we have been stuck inside or wearing masks for the last couple of years this time around feels a little different. Mask mandates have been removed in some areas while others stay in place, but I hope that this holiday is encouraging people to let loose a little, get outside and just enjoy the season.
In keeping with tradition, Edinburgh’s Vault City Brewing has released a vibrant green Apple Soor beer that is sure to be the talk of the town. Turning things green is a staple of any good St. Paddy’s Day celebration: Chicago uses its river, women dye their hair, and most bars acquire or create their own green-colored beverage. I think that the use of the different greens on this can as well as the really bright green drink that Vault City has been able to create is going to be a game changer. I can just imagine all the crazy concoctions that bartenders across the UK are going to be able to create with this new apple-flavored, brightly colored drink. It is only going to be a limited-edition release and bars across the country are scooping this up as fast as they can for today’s festivities, so if you have the chance, don’t miss out!
