Our team demonstrates our value of servant leadership to our customers, each other, and the community. At least quarterly, we get together to volunteer; check our other blogs about a project for veterans earlier this year and our 2021 community service recap

Last week, the FPC team left work a little early to lend a hand to Sarah’s Inn and raise awareness for Domestic Violence Action Month. Sarah’s Inn is one of the largest and most comprehensive domestic violence agencies serving Chicago and 22 surrounding West Cook County suburban communities. Alarmingly, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced physical violence from an intimate relationship. Sarah’s Inn’s mission is to improve the lives of those affected by domestic violence and to break the cycle of violence for future generations. The agency offers free counseling services, legal assistance, student education, and much more. Learn more about the important work of Sarah’s Inn at their website here.

Our team walked down Madison Street in downtown Forest Park, hanging purple ribbons on trees and light poles. If you walk between Jackson Blvd. and Elgin Ave., you will see our handiwork! We had a group on each side of the street and would occasionally taunt each other from across the road on who was “winning” the ribbon race, but really anyone who sets aside time to give back to others is already a winner.

Check out some photos from the event!:
